Oops..

So, i know that it has been a while since I wrote anything... and for anyone who is reading this I am sorry. However, recently there have been events (positive), that got me thinking that I shouldn't just have this blog specifically for ART. This blog should capture every single cool things that I see or do in my life. This doesn't have to be specifically about art. It could be about what I did today, or if anything interesting happened. Im going to start to think of it as a Twitter except with pictures and more detail. So, thank you to whoever is reading this and i hope you enjoy everything that i will post.

Ellis Grant

Ellis Grant is a good friend of mine. Not only is he a 6 foot freshman BUT he is a 6 foot freshman with some darn good drawing skills. His art looks cartoony ( If that describes it). It is very detailed with shades, but at the same times has an explosion of color. It amazes me how he draws with such crazy characters. Everything he draws is new and different. This unique technique really show his creativity as an artist. Personally I think that his art looks like Hundertwasser (if you know him). Not with the designs but with the abstractness and the whole crazy ideas he has behind the art. He uses bold pens which really shows in a lot of the art that he has. Unfortunately i didn't get a chance to get ALL of the drawings that Ellis has created. I would love to post them considering that each of them has such a uniqueness to them. His art is so interesting and i hope that he, one day, becomes a well known artist. Keep up the amazing work Ellis!

I sat down with Ellis and asked him some questions... and this is how it went (he really has a way with words...)

Question :What inspired you to draw?
Ever since I was a little kid I just drew a lot…I guess. There isn’t a specific reason but I just like to draw.

Question :What do you focus on in your art?
Kinda strang things. I wish I had a better way of saying it. Kinda like the abnormalities of daily life. It sounds kinda pretentious but I like how odd things really look, so I focus on the oddness of life.

Question :Where do you get your inspiration for art?
Hmm that’s a hard one. I don’t know if there’s a main place of where I get my inspiration but ill be drawing and one idea turns into a bigger idea and then a bigger idea and then it turns into one of my drawings.

Question :If someone were to ask how your art is different from any other style, how would you respond.
Its not...I can’t classify art to be any different. My art and others are in a way the same, but it’s hard to say my art is really THAT unique.

HELLO!

As i sit here in bed, sick, i thought to myself... There is a lot of artistic talent that is not yet recognized here in wonderful LA (or a lot of places for that matter). This Blog specifically deals with the lives, stories, and of corse, art of young or old unseen talent.

By the way..My name is Ethan Cardenas. I am 15 and i love art. There is so much life to art in my eyes. I walk around and see street art that needs to be seen! I see amazing potential in young artists and it is amazing to see the different types of art that people come up with. Each person has a different idea and concept to their art and this is why i created That One Art Blog. I want those peoples stories and art to be heard and seen! This blog may not go well, but its worth a shot.
